Every year an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person is eligible to receive a Health Check through Bega Garnbirringu Health Services.
Health Checks are important to continue the best care of your health. This allows the Doctor to identify if there are any health risk issues or concerns for your health. If you have a chronic condition, your Health Check can help make sure you are getting the medication and care you need.
What happens at a free annual health check
Our team of qualified Doctors and Health Professionals will work with you to perform your Annual Health Check. A typical health check can take up to 1 hour and consists of following, keeping in mind that age and circumstances might vary the tests required:
Remember that it’s your check, so tell your health worker about any worries you have, you can even talk about the health of your family and your current health priorities and goals

Bega provides most of these services in house, however on some occasions you may be referred to another service.
Hearing Clinics are provided by Australian Hearing.
Hearing Clinics are available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are clients of Bega. Children are seen by the visiting Paediatric Audiologist.

This service is strictly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients with a Centrelink and Concession Card. No referral is required for this this Dentist. This Dental Clinic is mainly for adults and occasional pre-schooler, however school aged children need to see the school Dentist. Clients are encouraged to attend early as places are limited.

We provide education to self-manage diabetes effectively and prevent complications and help you understand diabetes
The Diabetes Educator can also provide support to clients during a Diabetic Clinic. This education service helps clients to self-manage their diabetes effectively and prevent complications, provides support & motivation and can provide information to help you understand diabetes.

ENT Clinics are provided by Dr George Sim.
Quarterly clinics are provided by the ENT Specialist.
Referral is essential to book an appointment.
These clinics are run by a visiting ENT Specialist who comes from Perth. We run between 3-4 clinics per year, so be sure to get your appointment coordinated with the Specialist Clinic.
Transport to ENT Clinics
Transport can be arranged by Bega please call the Clinic on (08) 90225500.
If a child seat is needed, please notify our staff at the time of booking.

Immunisation Clinics are provided by Bega's Nurse Immunisers.
Immunisations are done during Bega Clinic hours.
We have a walk-in service and appointments available. We run clinics from time to time depending on community needs through our mobile clinic. If you need to know about your immunisation status, let our receptionist know when you call into the clinic to have a health practitioner assist you. Bega proactively engages in supporting government schedules for immunisations.
Nephrology services are provided by Dr Abu Abrahams or Dr Stephen Wright
This is a visiting service to our Bega Clinic that helps people treat conditions related to Kidney function and kidney related conditions. A doctor’s referral is essential. The specialist usually visits 4 times a year, so contact specialist clinic to make an appointment. Reminders for appointments are also issued.
Our Maternal Child Health team is here to care for Women and their families.
Our wonderful team includes a General Practitioner, an Endorsed Midwife and Health Practitioners. The clinic is open during normal Bega opening hours with no appointments needed. We provide women’s health care, pregnancy care, child health checks and immunisations.
We also have an Outreach Schools Program which performs general health check-ups in nominated primary and secondary schools. We also have a visiting Outreach Service to help families and pregnant mums in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and the Northern Goldfields each month.
Our team are here to provide care, support and advise on your journey to becoming new parents.
A visiting GP/Obstetrician comes to Bega twice a week — Wednesday's and Friday's.
We can also help with transport to and from Bega and to any related medical appointments.

Bega Mobile Clinic is a team of GP’s, Registered Nurses and Health Practitioners who provide primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Central, Northern and Southern Goldfields.
Our service endeavours to provides an accessible healthcare service and a culturally safe environment to our clients within the Goldfields working towards closing the gap and achieving healthy outcomes.

Ophthalmologist Clinics are provided by Lions Outback Vision.
Clinics are provided by the Ophthalmologist.
This visiting service to Bega provides comprehensive ophthalmology (eye) care for cataracts, trachoma, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
The specialists visit us usually 4 times a year and appointments are essential. You will also require a referral from a GP, so call in to see your GP to help get this sorted. Our specialist clinic team will assist in coordinating an appointment time for you once you’ve received a referral.

Optometry clinics are provided by Cayden Hill.
Our visiting Optometrist comes regularly to Bega and will provide standard glasses for our clients requiring support with their vision.

We have walk ins available and outreach services also available (North Goldfields only).

Physiotherapy services are provided by Addlife Health.
Weekly clinics are provided by the Physiotherapist.
Sessions are available to existing clients of Bega, however a Doctors referral is essential.

Podiatry Clinics are provided by Goldfields Podiatry.
Fortnightly clinics are provided by the Podiatrist.
Conditions managed can be skin and nail disorders, corns, calluses, ingrown toenails, foot injuries, infections, lesions, ulcerations, wounds, soft-tissues services include: education on basic foot care, general foot assessments, diabetic foot screening assessment, orthopaedic assessment, paediatric podiatry assessments and advice, general check-ups, care plans, preventive nail care.
