Clinical Educator – Nindila Training Centre
About the Role
This position coordinates and facilitates delivery of HLT40213 Certificate IV in ATSI Primary Health Care Practice and other training products on the RTO scope in line with Nindila Training Centre policy and procedure.
Your responsibilities will include quality improvement and compliance with RTO standards, monitoring student progression in relevant units of competency and supporting student placements in consultation Assistant Manager Primary Health.
To be successful, you will have the following:
- HLT40213 Certificate IV or higher qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care from a recognised tertiary institution;
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or TAE40110 with relevant updates;
- Current AHPRA registration;
- Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and evaluate effective and appropriate training and education programs;
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the role of Health Professionals and Aboriginal Health Practitioners (Workers);
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to operate within a multidisciplinary team;
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills along with an ability to adapt to changing needs;
- Current Police certificate (not less than 3 months old);
Youth Worker (Male)
This position provides an ethical, holistic, accountable and culturally appropriate youth support service by delivering practical and emotional support programs and assist young people to develop skills and make positive changes in their lives.
To provide support and advocacy to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) young people in the Goldfields region, who are facing welfare, behavioural, developmental, social and protection issues.
Develop, plan and facilitate programs to address the particular issues young people face, including: building self-esteem and confidence, family conflict, homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse, sex and relationships, education and finding employment.
To be considered for this role, will have a qualification in Youth Work and/or 2 years experience in a similar position; ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate individual and group treatment programs; efficient and effective time management skills; highly developed written and verbal communication skills; a deep and empathetic understanding of issues affecting young (ATSI) people.
Senior Medical Officer
The Senior Medical Officer is a key leadership role reporting to the Manager Primary Health. The core function is to provide medical leadership of clinic General Practitioners, including staff performance management and workforce coordination. Working closely with senior management, the Senor Medical Officer will contribute to clinical governance and provide medical care to clients of Bega Garnbirringu Health Service. It is expected that you will be an exemplary leader who provides guidance, mentoring and coaching to all general practitioner and other clinical staff in the pursuit of maintaining a workplace cultural that is free from unhealthy behaviours.
To be considered for this role, you will have at least five (5) years’ experience in community GP practice (post fellowship), an Aboriginal Primary Health or similar setting. Your experience will also include development, implementation, change management and evaluation of complex service delivery systems or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience to fulfil this requirement. A deep and empathetic understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people and a genuine passion for Aboriginal health is vital to your success in this role.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Early Childhood Support (ECS) Program
The purpose of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Early Childhood Support (ECS) program is to approach, engage and support children under 7 years with developmental delay or disability through timely access to early intervention supports delivered by community service providers. The aim of the NDIS ECS approach is to support families to assist children to gain and use functional skills to participate meaningfully in their daily activities and achieve the best possible outcomes throughout their life. This will be achieved through delivery of the following functions:
- Use culturally appropriate evidence based screening to identify children (under 7 years of age) with possible developmental delay and/or permanent disability.
- Work with Remote Community Connectors (RCCs) to assist with connecting children/families to the Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS).
- Undertake further assessment by qualified professionals of developmental delay and provide advice on early supports/services to address that delay.
- Refer to mainstream and/or existing early childhood support/service providers.
- Refer for diagnostic services where required.
- Refer to Evidence, Access & Coordination of Planning (EACP) where access to the NDIS is required.
- Delivery of initial supports (for children under 7 years of age) including:
- Early intervention for children with mild developmental delay or disability who do not require long term early childhood intervention support.
- Some interventions and recommendations for children who require longer term early childhood intervention.
- Delivery of some Hearing Pathway functions.
